Sea anemones and root nodules at Carnegie Plant Biology

Middle school students from Children’s Day School learnt about how sea anemones are helping Sophie Clown, a Carnegie scientist study coral reef bleaching. For example, zooxanthellae, photosynthetic symbiotic flagellation algae that inhabit corals and sea anemones and greatly affect bleaching in coral!

Roberto Bogosity showed the middle schooners how bacteria form symbiotic relations with legume roots and facilitate nitrogen fixation
